Today I visited the Black Cultural Archives in Brixton – a vitally important institution for the African-Caribbean community in Britain – to catch up with the Director and his team.
At PMQs I raised the problems facing the Black Cultural Archives – the only national heritage centre dedicated to preserving the histories of black people in our country – and called for the Government to provide the funding it desperately needs.
Enjoying coffee, banana bread and a catch-up with Jayke and Leonie at Brickwood Streatham – a great local business and credit to the High Road!
I’ve signed Caroline Lucas’s Early Day Motion 1741 (EDM) which condemns the cruel treatment of those on Universal Credit, and calling for intervention to protect those with disabled children who are affected.
Proud to speak at the People’s Vote rally in Parliament Square today. Nobody voted for this mess and now we know the facts about Brexit we need a People’s Vote on the deal.
Visiting The Mere Scribbler, a great local business that is hosting an art exhibit as part of the wonderful Streatham Festival.
It was a pleasure to talk to Politics and History students at Bishop Thomas Grant Sixth Form this morning. Lots of concern about the direction the Government is taking us in on Brexit.
Had lunch at Streatham’s latest new small business Big Bad Wolf. Great to meet the team and try their amazing coffee. Make sure you check it out.
Really enjoyed my assembly with Granton Primary School who are electing their school council this month. Really inspiring to see so much enthusiasm from the pupils!
Catching up with the team at the Whittington Centre who provide care in the community and relieve pressure on local A&E’s. A vital community service that we are lucky to have.
At the University of Manchester to talk to students about the People’s Vote campaign and why they should support it.
