The Streatham constituency contains the eastern side of Clapham across to the Common itself, including Clapham Park Estate, Lambeth Academy, and Thornton.
Clapham is a vibrant community and has undergone significant regeneration and investment in housing and on the high street in recent years. The Common remains a popular destination for tourists and locals.

I had the privilege of chairing the StreathamBID’s High Street Summit in the Streatham Space Centre, discussing Brexit, crime, and the state of the local economy with local business owners.
I spoke to the Progressive Centre UK to launch research done by Opinium Research on the appetite for progressive politics in Britain today and a change from what the main two parties are offering.
I spoke in Angela Smith MP’s Westminster Hall debate in favour of Proportional Representation in UK elections. Our main parties are broken and we need to fix the system.
As MP for most Remain voting constituency, I was proud to attend the Change UK European Election campaign launch with the unequivocal vow to support a People’s Vote and champion Remain.
Given the Chancellor has said that a People’s Vote on Brexit is a credible option, I asked the Prime Minister to tear up her red lines and give my constituents a say on the Brexit process.
My Independent Group colleagues and I voted in favour of Yvette Cooper’s bill to extend Article 50 to avoid a No Deal Brexit, which successfully passed into law.
Really enjoyed my visit to Julian’s Primary School, taking some great questions and being shown round by pupils. The school are doing a great job, thanks for the warm welcome!
