What I do

Clapham

The Streatham constituency contains the eastern side of Clapham across to the Common itself, including Clapham Park Estate, Lambeth Academy, and Thornton.

Clapham is a vibrant community and has undergone significant regeneration and investment in housing and on the high street in recent years. The Common remains a popular destination for tourists and locals.

Order Paper Take Over vote

I voted for a motion to take over the Order Paper to prevent a future Conservative PM from forcing through a No Deal Brexit against Parliament’s will, which was unfortunately defeated.

Kings Avenue school visit

I welcomed pupils from Kings Avenue school to Parliament before their tour and took their questions about Parliament, politics, and Streatham.

Tribe

Visiting Streatham’s newest addition to the High Street, Tribe! A brand new vegan cafe, juice bar and co-working space right next to Streatham Hill station. Check them out!

Filling Station

Dropped in on The Filling Station for my morning coffee, another great local business on Streatham High Road and a favourite of mine!.

Children's Mental Health EDM

I signed EDM 2285 calling for a new Mental Health Bill to tackle the needs of children with mental health needs.

Chop Barbers

Had a chance to visit a great local business Chop Barbers in Clapham Common, who told me how they are concerned Brexit could impact on their workforce.

Southside Cafe

Pleasure to visit a great local business Southside Cafe in Clapham and meet Curtis and Laura. I recommend the carrot cake!

Glenbrook School

Really enjoyed my visit to Glenbrook Primary School this morning on their Wear Green Day to raise money for
MindCharity. Great work guys!

Denied My Vote

Following the huge number of EU Citizens who were denied their right to vote on polling day, I have written to the Cabinet Office calling on government to take responsibility and set out plans to prevent it ever happening again.

Woodmansterne

I visited Woodmansterne school and children’s centre to talk to students about politics, and take a tour of the great new buildings and facilities for pupils.

Mental Health PQs

On Mental Health Week, I have tabled a series of questions to ask government what it is doing to safeguard the mental health of visa applicants, civil servants, and school children.

APPG Report Take Up

I have written to Ministers following the publication of the APPG for Social Integration’s interim report on healing the generational divide, calling on government to participate in the inquiry and act to build bridges between the generations.
