What I do

Clapham

The Streatham constituency contains the eastern side of Clapham across to the Common itself, including Clapham Park Estate, Lambeth Academy, and Thornton.

Clapham is a vibrant community and has undergone significant regeneration and investment in housing and on the high street in recent years. The Common remains a popular destination for tourists and locals.

House of Commons - Cost of Public Transport

In a debate on the cost of public transport I argued that the cost of travelling to and from Streatham on Govia Thameslink is unacceptable given the dreadful service that commuters receive.

Southern Rain

Demanding the Transport Secretary gives an urgent statement on what he will do to force Southern Trains to improve their appalling service to constituents.

House of Commons - Local Government Finance

In the Commons I highlighted the challenges facing Lambeth Council in maintaining front-line services when the Government has cut the council’s budget by 56% since 2010.

Streatham Royal Mail Delivery Office

Helping sort the post at Streatham Royal Mail Delivery Office during their Christmas rush.

House of Commons - National Minimum Wage

I raised an Urgent Question in the Commons about reported breaches of national minimum wage legislation by Sports Direct.

Christmas Lights Switch-on

Brilliant to switch on the Streatham Christmas Lights with Gogglebox stars Sandy and Sandra!

Westminster Hall - Small Business Saturday

During a Westminster Hall debate I paid tribute to those who helped bring Small Business Saturday to the UK and the enormous contribution that our small businesses make to the economy.

Bus accessibility

Travelling with Faye brought home the daily difficulties disabled people have on public transport. I’m determined to help make sure our transport serves the needs of everyone.

Westminster Hall - Black History Month

In a Westminster Hall debate marking Black History Month I paid tribute to the immense contribution of African and Caribbean people to our country but highlighted the glass ceiling which undoubtedly still exists.
