What I do

Brixton

The Streatham constituency contains the southern part of Brixton. It has a longstanding reputation as a vibrant cultural and creative hub, and has also seen significant transformation and investment. Windrush Square is named after the Windrush generation – who settled in Brixton after arriving in the UK as it had the labour exchange which was closest to the accommodation provided to migrants in Clapham – and is home of the Black Cultural Archives.

Community safety public meeting

I spoke at a public community safety meeting with Lambeth Police and local Councillors to discuss concerns after the recent stabbings on Madeira Road and Valley Road.

APPG EU Relations - Launch

Honoured to be elected as co-chair of the APPG on EU Relations. Along with Anna Soubry MP and cross-party MPs and Peers I will fight against a hard Brexit.

House of Commons - Queen's Speech Amendment

Pleased our Amendment to the Queen’s Speech against a job destroying Brexit has been selected for debate. I pledged to constituents that I would fight against a hard Brexit and keep us in the Single Market – I’m keeping that promise.

KataKata

Very grateful to have the support of local business KataKata on Brixton Hill!

Young leaders awards

It was hugely inspiring to hand out awards to some amazing young leaders at Victory House Church tonight.

Campaigning in Brixton Hill

Meeting constituents on the Roupell Park Estate in Brixton Hill this evening – lots of people raising concerns about Brexit and Tory cuts to school funding.

Fair Funding for Schools

Proud to speak at the Fair Funding Lambeth rally against Conservative cuts to our schools.

Hyderi Islamic Centre

I attended the moving vigil for the people of Manchester at Hyderi Islamic Centre this evening. The terrorists seek to divide us but what they have done is brought us together.

Hustings

Really great turnout for the Streatham election hustings, excellently organised by Streatham Action and Love Streatham. Thanks to everyone who came.

Vote Leave Watch pamphlet

I published a pamphlet outlining why London needs the Single Market and the Customs Union – we need the most prosperous and equal future for our city and country.

David Harewood

Bumped into actor and Streatham resident David Harewood whilst out speaking with constituents this evening!

Campaigning in Brixton
