I spoke at the Crimestoppers public meeting on knife crime and youth violence – we discussed how we can start to tackle serious youth violence including a return to neighbourhood policing.

At the packed Labour IN for Britain phonebank to speak to campaign for Britain to remain a member of the European Union.

I chaired the first public evidence session of the APPG on Social Integration. We discussed if the UK has become more or less segregated since the Cantle Report in 2001.

The last month has seen 11 stabbings in Lambeth involving young people. I called on the Government to agree to an independent cross-party commission to look into the causes of youth violence.

I’m extremely proud to serve as a patron of the High Trees Community Development Trust and it was wonderful to welcome them to Parliament and host their annual reception this evening.
